The flash on my camera has stopped working so indoors pictures (which I don't take very often) are problematic. Above are pictures just before Christmas of Daivd and Nina with their new cat, Snowball. I later discovered my camera has a High ISO setting which works better indoors without a flash. What to do? On New Year's Day, there was a wonderful chanting group at the old Episcopal church in Kingston, NY. It was a wonderful space. Kingston Methodist / Episcopal Church. =0=

Early in January I made my reservations for my trip to Turkey / India. India is pretty hard to visit, with many requirements for their visas. Above is a picture I had taken for my visa. Also in January, Jay had a appendicitis with a burst appendix. They were able to correct it and he was back to work in just over a week having missed only a couple of days of work. He had no health insurance so sorting out the bills will be a continuing challenge for Jay. Here is a picture of Sally. We have been commuting together to the chanting group at Unison in New Paltz. The chanting group is New Paltz is so phenomenal. I made some videos of the chants, these from a Native Amercan tradition (1, 2, and 3). Sally. =0=

Each year they have a Frost Fair at the Saratoga Battlefield, a National Park. They had reenactments of firing muskets, a most arduous procedure. There was a Meetup event describing it, but also asking for volunteers to help out. That helped me decide as I was able to explore the Fair before my time to volunteer. They also had free rides in a wagon pulled by horses (as shown here, below and in this video). They also had a crafts section for the kids (below). I helped out in the parking lot greeting new arrivals and givng them flyers. Frost Fair, Saratoga Battlefield, NY. =0=

We also celebrated David's birthday (turned 30) at an Italian family style restaurant, Buca's. This picture was taken indoors in dim light but with the High ISO setting. Better, but not great. . =0=
