Cave 12 was impressive with the three levels of shrines with internal stairs (on the sides) between the levels. It also looks like the central courtyard was cleared away as well (that is a lot of rock to move). Ellora Caves, India. =0=

From there I went on to cave 15, a Hindu shrine, this one mostly devoted to Vishnu. The detail of the carving was most impressive. Ellora Caves, India. =0=

Again there steps off to the side to get up to the next level. Here and above you can see that some of the original plaster survived, but it is covered with soot from many centuries of habaition. Below is a free standing carving of what looks like a water buffalo. There is also a shrine in the center of the courtyard, which, by tradition, needs to be free standing on all sides. It was carved from the mountain also, but it looks like there was much excess rock to remove. Ellora Caves, India. =0=
