Last Day for Lotto Work Shoes. =0= Last Day for Lotto Work Shoes. =0=
Before I left Jefferson Valley, NY over ten years ago, I had about two dozen pairs of shoes which was most outrageous. I gave away about a dozen pair before putting my stuff into storage, but have been wearing out the remainder. Today I wore my work shoes for the last time, going from ten pair of shoes to nine. They were fine Italian (Lotto) sneakers which served me well, but their days have come to an end as these pictures demonstrate. They have been my work shoes for over 15 years as some of the stains are epoxy paint which we used when I helped refurbish large fishing boats in Seattle. Last Day for Lotto Work Shoes. =0=

Toward the end of May in 2014, Washington Park had a fundraiser from their previous tulip festival. You could load bags with 20 tuplip bulbs; for each two bags you could keep one and the other would be offered for sale the next day for $5. I loaded four bags and took two home. Later in June, a group of us from CommerceHub made a trip to Adirondack Extreme, a treetop adventure park. In this picture is the organizer of this group, Vijaya, completing the last of the black course (she is in the distance in the red T-shirt). It is the last and hardest course and requries lots of upper body strength. On that section I lost my glasses, knocked off as I struggled with tangled cables. Not a big deal, I had spare glasses in the car and got replacement glasses for $12 (including shipping and handling) from Zenni Optical. It was an awesome trip and great workout. I was sore in muscles I didn't know I had. In June, my biking commute to work was altered to go around Hill Street as they were revamping that private road. CommerceHub Adirondack Extreme trip. =0=

On the last weekend of June I went to the Ithaca Dance Camp again, my fifth visit. I made a short video of Arif and Amina leading spontaneous kirtan session. I also did an excerpt of Maitreya's Weddning Song led by Farid and another excerpt of Da Pachem Domine. I also made a short excerpt of 'om mani padme hum' but my camera was upside down and it was in teh evening with not enough light. Doh! Another excerpt which was made in the evening and too dark is The ocean refueses no river. The last dance was the Kalama which is a really old dance but I find it very melodious and quite engaging. I recorded the sound for all eighteen minutes and shared an excerpt of the main chant as well as the more rare CounterPoint. Here is the puja for the camp. I brought some jade colored mala beads (next to the yellow bottle) which Tori gave me, so now they are even more blessed. Ithaca Dance Camp. =0=

In 2014 there weren't any trips to Treman State Park as in years past. Instead there was a field trip down to the stream than ran through the Arnot Forest where the kids had a good time playing in the stream shown here. Ithaca Dance Camp. =0=

At Ithaca Dance Camps everyone is asked to help out to make everything happen. I always signed up for after meal clean ups as I loved worked with the disk crew. This year I was asked to formally be the dish crew leader for each meal and I loved it. I requested that once we had a quorum (most of the crew) we would pause and sing Joe Miller's 'May all beings be well, may all beings be happy, peace, peace, peace.' at the start of our shift and at the end. I think it really helped us establish our intentions as a team and made the experience much sweeter for me and, I imagine, for the other members of the crew. Here is the Sunday morning crew. My new Samsung Galaxy S3 (new to me anyway) has a front facing camera which I used to take this selfie. Selfie are so much easier when you have a front facing camera. :-) Brian. =0=
