On Tuesday, Jay and I visited the Nauticus Museum. It is a pretty good science museum with a heavy focus on naval history (of course). It is also where the battleship Wisconsin is 'dry docked' (no longer in service, but clearly able to be reactivated as they did in the 80's. Next to it is the Half Moon Convention Center (named after Henry Hudson's ship from the Netherlands). Sadly on the day we visited only the main deck was open. Doh! | =0= |

Behind the Half Moon Convention Center there was a wooden sailing ship docked, but it is a 'modern' sailing ship that just happened to be docked there. Go figure! The Norfolk city icon seems to be a mermaid and there were statutes like the one below in many places. | =0= |

I made a short video of the fountain above. The downtown Norfolk area was quite upscale as you can see here and below. | =0= |

Surprisingly enough there are only two enclosed malls in the Norfolk area and we visited them each. One was pretty ordinary, much like the Albany Crossgates mall. It had a dollar store and a carousel as its draw. The other was the MacArthur Center which was very nice. They also had a way cool fountain with a timed display (shown here) that I made a video of. | =0= |
