The orange juice that I had gotten at Emin Supermarket was ultra-pasteurized so that it did not require refrigeration and tasted good. Further it was a bargain price of under $1 a quart / liter. After some consideration I decided to buy enough to last me in India, but when I went back it turned out that particular brand had been on sale and they were out. However, I really want a bargain, so the mext morning I walked to Migros, their super store, to see if I would get a good price. I walked past a very large construction site I had passed on several ocassions. It is going to be a huge complex for shopping, commerce and residential. I made a video of them drilling. emaar work site, Istanbul, Turkey. =0=

Friday Elif had a class to take in the morning and so we met for lunch after her class. We headed to Uskudar via a mini-van. It took about eight passengers at Kadikoy and when they were full (very soon), off we went. From there we took a ferry to Kanlico which is famous for their yogurt. It was on the Asian side which we left from. Here is Elif in front of a stand with all the sizes of yogurt next to her. We each had a Kanlico yogurt which was unsweetened, but served with a bowl of sugar. We enjoyed our yogurt, but the bowl of sugar was practically empty at the end. From there we took the ferry back along the Bosphorous (an abbreviated tour as the weather was a little chilly) to Besikas. Elif. =0=

Above is a view of the fortress I had been interested in visiting, but never made it out that way. Our ferry left us on the European side of the Bosphorous and we decided to walk to meet Elif's friends passing the Dolmabahce Palace of the last Sultan, now a very upscale hotel. This was not the best view, but still quite impressive. Previous Sultan's Palace. =0=
