His Eminence 12th Tai Situ or commonly just Tai Situ is a very popular teacher and so has many visitors. We waited for a little while before seeing him and were served tea and crackers. Above is a picture of Dawa and Gabrielle, the planners for our group. Also above is a picture of Sue, Elena, Lamala, John (my brief roommate), and Valerie. Here is a picture of Lamala's brother Wang Ga. | ![]() |

As we each came in and completed our prostrations, Tai Situ gave us his blessing by placing our Kata (a long light colored scarf) around our neck. Above is Lamala and Chuck and also my roommate, Derek, getting blessings. Derek has a chest mount for his camera. Then Tai Situ spoke to us a bit about being happy, noting that he is not enlightened but that he has learned to enjoy most anything that comes his way and so is not so worried about being enlightened in this lifetime. Life is good as you progress along the spiritual path. He is a great speaker. I made a short video of him talking. | ![]() |

We then headed back in the private cars. Here they are shown lined up ready for us to go. The neighborhood where Tai Situ lives is very mixed with little shacks on a plot of land with broken down walls and very nice residences side by side. I presume the shacks are for the original owners of the plot of land who have not yet sold their property to someone prosperous who wants to build a nice house on it. | ![]() |

On the way back, Karen and Maureen were in another car and Karen was enjoying her mixed nuts. Our cars were side by side and we said she shouldn't eat unless she had enought to share and she promptly shared her nuts (she had a big bag and didn't want to take it home) by reaching through the car windows. How sweet! I had ridden with Chuck, Valerie, and Yolanda and when we got back we went to the Himalyan House for lunch (shown here). | ![]() |
