Above is a couple who asked me to take their picture and then see the result. It was my pleasure of course. The Indian neighborhood seems a little better organized (wider paths so a small truck can get through, straighter paths, etc.) but not so developed and crowded as the Tibetan camp. Also a little less prosperous having only one internet cafe (above, not labeled as an internet cafe) and they did not have wifi or permit a cable connection to my laptop. What to do? Below are pictures which people asked me take. It seems that Westerners don't make it into this neighborhood as often as in the Tibetan camp. | =0= |

Just outside the Tibetan camp along the highway there are hand pump wells like this. Given the sort of waste that gets into the street run off, I would be concerned about the water from suchg a well. The lobby of the Tara House is starting to look really nice. As I was headed out to find an internet cafe with wifi or cable (for my notebook), I was a sign explaining the latest crack down which caused the closing of the local internet cafe. On March 26, 2012 an activist set himself on fire in Delhi in protest of the treatment of Tibetans in Tibet. What to do? Anyway I was off to ride a random bus to the end and then explore for an internet cafe. I had seen this shrine previously and stopped to investigate. It may have been a Hindu temple, but I am not sure. | =0= |

Above, off in the distance you can see the bus stop I noticed on the other side of the highway. I wanted to take the North, away from Delhi to see where it took me. Here is a random van picking up people after a brief discussion (I was clearly not a candidate). Here is the first Delhi muncipal bus that I saw and the one I chose to take. It was very crowded to get on and I probably should have waited for a bus not so full. There were some really skillful pickpockets who got Droid phone. Doh! I am amazed as I only noticed as the flap closed. I looked around, but there were no obvious candidates (many people were looking at me). While annoying, it was the best possible time for me to lose my phone as I had used its GPS function on many different treks and was thinking I should switch plans and get a new phone in the next few weeks, now on a more aggressive schedule (as I switch to my backup phone when I get back). I expect I should be able to get home without my Droid as I have paper copies of all my reservations.... | =0= |
