In early January of 2013 a group of over 40 Unitarians from the Capital District (aka Albany area) made a weekend trip to the Jersey Shore to help with the repairs for the damage caused by hurricane Sandy. On Saturday a group of us helped remove the old drywall and floor which had gotten flooded during the storm. For the first few months after the storm, the town would remove anything that people took to the curb (presumably reimbursed under FEMA), so that is what we did. The home owners are shwn above. | =0= |

We stayed at the Murray Grove Retreat Center which is a key site for Universalist history. Universalism was a church which merged with the Unitarians about 50 years ago and had its own illustrious history. While the Unitarians were Puritans who broke away as they did not believe in the Trinity (God, the Son, and the Holy Ghost), instead believing that the three were really one, Univeralists were Christians who believed that salvation was for everyone. All all powerful God would not create people who were pre-destined to eternal damnation. It snowed that night. The rooms were basic with shared bathrooms. | =0= |
