Here is what a loader set up for juice oranges looks like. The arm is a little different in that it grabs the round tubs rather than the square bins for packing fruit. It also has a sort of box on the back to hold the fruit. Juice Orange Loader.
Here is the trailer we were filling on my last day. I only got three tubs and then stopped as there wasn't time to do a fourth and no way to carry over a partial tub for the next day (so I took lots of pictures). Juice Orange Trailer.
Here are two movies of Louis emptying the loader into the trailer. They are each about 20 seconds long (450K) and will each take about two minutes to download for dial up modems. The first video is of Louis raising the box and starting the dumping. The second is of the end when he shakes the last few oranges out and then starts driving away as he lowers the box. Raising load. Load empties.
If your browser is not set up to show movies you will get a dialog box instead of a player and can just press cancel. If you press the pause button (left bottom) before the movie finishes you can watch the movie again without downloading it again.
I have been impressed with the fine qualities of all the members of my crew. They are most patient (able to wait when necessary without getting upset) and accepting (able to accept difficulties like rain, heat, etc.. while maintaining good humor). Those are fine qualities for picking fruit and fine qualities for life in general.... Here is the ladder trailer we take from grove to grove. It is mostly empty here with the ladders out in the grove as we work. Ladder Trailer.
