These pictures were taken by Nikki. You can see all her pictures on another page. Above are pictures of the coliseum. There were also plenty of souvenir vendors. It was also pretty warm, perhaps 90 or 95 degrees out and sunny. They sold frozen water bottles to tourists while Italians didn't like their water cold. I drank tap water at restaurants and in refilled water bottles that I carried with me. Rome Souvenirs. =0=

Our local guide took up to the Arch of Constantino and then took us into the Coliseum. They had metal detectors on the way into the coliseum. So sad that that is necessary in these times of ours. Here is a picture of our tour guide in Rome. Below is the interior of the coliseum. Notice that at the end they have reconstructed the floor as it would have been. There are also the seat which would have been reserved for important persons. The higher levels were for the masses. Local Guide. =0=
