The Dallas Mensa group is pretty active with lots of parties and interesting activities. On December 14, 2001, they had a 'Carolling' outing on one of the renovated trolleys. It seems that two of the conductors for the line are members so there was no fee to go carolling. Here are the two conductors, Colin and Doug, along with me and another member of the group. Colin, Doug, Brian, ....
Here is a picture of the trolley we went on. A plate on the rear said that it was pretty new (manufactured in 1947) and a sign inside seemed to indicate that it first saw service in Melbourne, Australia. Trolley Car.
For the first part of the trip, this was the driver end of the trolley with the first conductor, Colin. Kevin (on left) was dressed in holiday apparel. Later we got back to our starting point (which was a dead end) and they switched directions and conductors. Trolley Conductor.
Altogether there were about 23 carollers including two kids. I didn't get any nice pictures of the kids. Drats. They had made up sheets with the words for most common Christmas Carols which we sang from. Left rear carollers. Right rear carollers.
Here is the middle section of the trolley with carollers. The trolleys didn't move too fast and there were late arrivals who passed us and parked to be picked up along the route. Middle carollers.
