On the second floor is the main hall shown here and below with an incredible ceiling. It is truly magnificent. The various halls around the main hall on both the second and third floors are almost exclusively displays with descriptions about the history of various documents such as the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. On the first floor they have a movie theater, bathrooms and such. Even the Men's Room is impressive (that is marble stall dividers which you don't see much today. Library of Congress. =0=

The U.S. Capital is just across the street from the Library of Congress and above is a view of the Library of Congress from across the street (there is also a tunnel connecting the two, but it goes to the Capital Visitor's Center which closes sharply at 5PM and we hade slept late that morning (having gotten in at 2AM).
