Szaron works as a middle school science teacher in Lake Elsinore and one of her projects for the summer was to paint the garage doors. Above you can see before and after pictures. I like the new look. One morning the mist was particularly pretty over Lake Elsinore as shown here. Lake Elsinore mist, CA. =0=
Here is another view of the mist, this time in the distance along the hills. Below are pictures of Didi and her fiance, Mike. She has known him for about six months. He is a marine stationed in the area. James and Szaron had not met him previously, so on August 8 he came by and we all had breakfast together before they headed to Las Vegas where they were married. He needed to return to duty Monday morning and she was headed back to school in Long Beach where she is taking a course required for entrance into graduate school. Lake Elsinore mist, CA. =0=

On Saturday, August 8, 2009, we went hunting for the mythical Old Dominion Mine. We had seen a couple of maps on the web which showed its location and it was so close to where James and Szaron live and hike. We had a link which showed just where the mine was with google map and a GPS to tell us where we were. We took James truck (above) and drove along the National Forest road. It was quite impressive as you can see above. We parked the truck where the map said (also above). There was only one obvious trail, straight up the hill as shown here. On the way up there were some nice views along the trail (below). Cleveland National Forest. =0=

As you got close to the top there were some really impressive views as shown above. Here is a picture of Szaron as she headed up the trail (the stepping was pretty tricky). Of course the views were fantastic (below). The way down was even more treacherous and James and Szaron went down in their classical pairing with James in the lead. Szaron. =0=
