Above are pictures of photo albums my mom had made up with photos she collected. The picture on the right shows the album that my Uncle Felix gave to my mom when she had left their home (the Turners, her foster family) when she had returned to her birth home (the Newkirks) and said that she didn't feel like she belonged there. There is a separate page with the pages from the album. Here is Rick and Ginny. Ginny was one of my drinking buddies in high school. We connected in the fall (Sep 2009) via classmates.com. They have been married for twenty years, but Rick has terminal cancer along with Guilain Barret Syndrome (paralysis from auto-immune reaction). He is in a nursing home in Alvarado, TX (below) while Ginny is in a fixer upper house they got about a year ago just before he was paralyzed. | =0= |

Rick gets physical therapy each day which is slowly improving his condition (less paralysis), though the cancer is still there (he has already survived well beyond anyone's expectations). In Alvarado they are drilling for natural gas (leasing rights from the homeowners if they can't buy them outright). Above is a drillling rig just a block or so away from Rick's nursing home in Burleson. We had lunch at the Mexican Grill (below) and I took this picture of Ginny. They also have five poodles which they took in after they were rescued. Below is a picture of one. | =0= |
