The shrine had a nice view of the lake (above). As we continued around the lake, there was a park like section along the shore where families were having picnics and generally enjoying the pleasant atmosphere. Here are Yolanda and Valerie feeding the fish (video). The fish were pretty big (two feet long I would guess) and there were a lot of them, but it is hard to see in the picture. Further along there were some poles with so many prayer flags between them that it was practically like a wall (and I don't see how any normal wind could cause any to flutter). Above is the gate / entrance to Tso Pema / Rewalsar where our driver was charged a fee of about $1. Also above is another shrine with lots of prayer wheels just across from the hotel. Here is the Sema Bakery where I got some nie flat bread (roti). It makes yummy peanut butter sandwiches with the peanut butter I brought. I also noticed a bank that didn't look much like a bank, but the next day when they rolled up the steel doors it had more the glass windows and such you would expect of a bank. The next morning we all rode up to the cave on the hill. I had wanted to hike up, but Lamala got a premonition that it would be better to all ride. :-( Below is Lamala giving us a short talk before we proceeded to the cave. Sema Bakery. =0=

Above is Lamala talking to the monk just at the gate (shown here). Just a few steps above that is a cave entrance shown above. Lamala explained that if your ego is too large the cave opening will narrow and you won't be able to go through. First Lamala's brother, Wang Ga, went through and then Dawa. Next up was Guy, myself and Elena. I don't remember anyone else trying, but no one was stuck. The cave was about 12 feet climb down, pretty easy, but still reason to be careful. Then it was about twenty feet flat to the visible exit. However it did get more narrow and lower so that at the end you were on your knees and I had to twist my hips to get through (not an easy exercise). It came out in the opening below. We then headed up the steps and saw the monastery. Gateway to the cave area. =0=
