McKownville Methodist Church Tent-A-Thon. =0= Capital District Habitat for Humanity Volunteer BBQ. =0=
Shortly after I got back, there was a combination Volunteer BBQ for Capital District Habitat for Humanity (HfH) along with a Tent-A-Thon. This was the 17th annual Tent-A-Thon sponsored by the McKownville Methodist Church to raise money for Habitat (they have sponsored several houses). Originally they camped in the back yard of the church (presumably to help people appreciate how important a house is) but it has since been moved to Tawasentha Park. People get sponsors to support their days at the camp. It lasts a week and started with the BBQ on Thursday evening. Many people go to work and such during the day and just have dinner there (it is hosted by different companies like Outback). Here is Al, the outgoing executive of Captial District HfH who was given the golden hammer award. Al. =0=

Christine (above) helped organize the BBQ and was the MC for the program. Also above is one of the Tuesday build volunteers, Barbara, with her kids. They came with a friends dog, Dwayne (shown here), who they were caring for while their friends were out of town. Below is Emily who manages the Restore and gave awards to the truck helpers like myself and Steve (also below). Dwayne (their dog). =0=
