We were able to meditate while the monks chanted. When they were nearing the end their breakfast of roti (a bread that is a little like white tortillas), oat meal (if they had a bowl), tea, and potatoes with a little spice (served on the roti). Those of who had brought cups could have tea and we were able to try the roti and potatoes (none of us had brought bowls so I am not sure about the oatmeal). It was very nice and ended about 7:15AM so we could go back for another breakfast at the Guest House. The monks rooms all face on a courtyard like ours (though I presume their rooms don't have attached baths as there are communal bathrooms). Sherab Ling Monastery, India. =0=

We had come across to the monastery along a path across a valley and stream. It was dark on the way there (so we used flashlights), so on the return I took pictures. Here are the classrooms where the young monks were chanting. Sherab Ling Monastery, India. =0=

The path back was pretty steep, but a very nice walk. From the far side there was a nice view of the monastery. After our second breakfast, one of the staff took us on walking tour of the monastery. Our first stop was a shrine on the same ridge as the Guest House. Sherab Ling Monastery, India. =0=
