Above is the new library built just off the Plain and in front of the old library. The top floor was paid for by the WPAOG via several class gifts, including the class of 1975. The top floor is set up for receptions and such and we had a reception there. There was a balcony with an impressive view. Below are pictures of Cullum Hall and the Plain. Above is a picture of one of the stair cases in the new library. Also above is Perhsing Barracks with the room where I stayed for my freshman year behind the lamp. It was built in 1891 as the main academic building but has been used a barracks periodically since 1950. Here and below is Grant Barracks, perviously known as Old South Barracks. It is built above Grant Hall which was the cadet mess hall from 1852 to 1923 (they had much smaller classes then). The barracks themselves were built 1923. My company, D-1 (the Ducks) lived over Grant Hall. I spent a goodly portion of my time at West Point living in the 42nd Division, the sets 12 rooms at the corner (4 rooms per floor around a central stair case). The front of the barracks are regular clay bricks. Beyond Grant Barracks you can see some new barracks which are under construction further up the hill. There are some barracks like 'New South' which were built in the 60's and are being replaced. The reunion was on the same weekend as the annual retreat at the KTD Tibetan Buddhist monastery outside of Woodstock, NY. Grant Barracks, West Point, NY. =0=

It was a dillemma for me as the reunions are only once every five years. However, when I learned that only two of my classmates that I knew very well were going, I decided to leave the reunion on Friday afternoon and join the KTD retreat. Above are pictures of Lama Dudjam Dorjee giving blessings at the end of the retreat. KTD Monastery, Woodstock, NY. =0=
