From the half way point you could see the back side of the statues that overlooked St. Michael's square. Nikki took the picture on the left and I took the picture on the right. Unretouched her camera (actually David's) seems to have more saturated colors. The Basilca was quite large and this is the view of the dome. Then we headed down and visited Saint Peter's Basilica proper. We were glad we went to the top before it got how or crowded. Below on the right is a picture of the lovely marble floor with a floor cleaning machine they used to keep the floors so clean and shiny. Saint Peter's Basilica =0=
