Aboce is another picture of a church in Lucca and of one of the narrow roads through the town. From there we continued on to Florence. Here is our hotel, the Meridiana. The hotel was on a nice wide avenue with big trees on each side. Meridiana Hotel, Florence. =0=

The rooms were nice too. Nikki took these pictures of their room. In Rome we found a supermarket and shopped a little. They got lots of drinks as you can see. They also got some really nice pictures of themselves. Nikki and Jay. =0=

Florence Leather 'Factory'. =0= Florence Leather 'Factory'. =0=
In Florence we had an early morning start and the kids decided to stay in. It started with a leather factory tour which was mostly just a large tourist oriented shop with a long sales pitch. They did have a demonstration of a shoe which which was mostly made in China but two parts were very cheaply glued together in Italy, qualifying as Made in Italy. We got there first thing (9AM) and the store wasn't open yet. We waited a few minutes and then had the 'tour'. They did have western style restrooms which we could use. I looked around the square, Piazzi Santa Croce and such and came back to use the restrooms. They were mirror image men and women's rooms which looked pretty cool. Here is a picture of the Bassilica di Santa Croce (shown here). After a bit I went to meet the group for the rest of the tour (walking tour), but was sitting in the shade and missed them. Go figure. I wandered for a bit on the little roads and happened on the Museo Casa De Dante (or Museum at the Home of Dante) Bassilica di Santa Croce. =0=
