Pisa Walls. =0= Pisa Cathedral. =0=
Around Pisa were the town walls, shown above in these pictures bu Nikki. Next to that is a nice picture of the cathedral with the leaning tower in the background. Here is a great picture of the tower next to the front of the cathedra. I am not sure how the camera got that darkening around top. Below is a picture of the museum across the square. Next to that is a really cool view of the tower. Leaning Tower of Pisa. =0=

Jay. =0= Jay and Nikki. =0=
Above are a couple of pictures Nikki took of Jay and both of them. She was most clever about self portraits. Here is a picture I took of the city wall from the outside (Nikki's was from the inside at the main ientrance). Pisa does not allow tourist buses to take people to the tourist area, but insists that we shuttle in on public buses which do run pretty often. Below you can see legal vendors (with umbrellas) and a wall just behind the bus stop which had had several vendors with blankets with their goods displayed. We presume they weren't licensed as the police drove by and chased a man who ran away. I missed that but the police cruised by a few minutes later. In the leather factory (really a sales pitch at a large tourist shop) in Florence they explained that such vendors sold cheaply made works from China (possibly assembled in Italy by gluing two parts together to get the 'Made in Italy' label, though illegal cendors wouldn't necessarily bother with that subterfuge. Lucca town walls. =0= Lucca town walls. =0=
Pretty close to Pisa was Lucca, which was one of the older towns. The bus let us off just outside the town walls which are shown above. They had several pretty churches around the town shown here and below. Lucca church. =0=
