As we walking down the little paths between buildings we would some time see deliveries or similar ilk, kegs of beer or whatever carried by hand or on hand trucks / dollies. The canals are used to get close to the general area and the rest is done by hand / on foot. Above is a trash pick up boat. I imagine that in days of old much of the trash went out with the tide, but now they are much cleaner. Below is a picture of the train station which is right next to the Grand Canal and very close to the bus terminal. In each hotel they provided a continental breakfast. The Albatross shown below was, perhaps, the nicest. They had tables individually set up with bread and rolls and waiters brought coffee, or, for me, hot chocolate (the other two hotels had bread, rolls, coffee, and hot chocolate as part of the buffet line). They also had scrambled eggs at the Albatross, but they were pretty institutional and we didn't try them. | =0= |

We were on our own for the last day in Venice and so said our farewells to Sabina as she was headed back to her home in Florence. Above are pictures I took with Nikki's camera and here is a picture Nikki took with my camera. The next day we went to see the International Art Show or 'Senti con la Menten' which is held in Venice every other year. We took the bus to bus terminal in Venice and then walked to the far end of the Grand Canal. Below are pictures Nikki took of an ad just across from the bus stop by our hotel (with Jay, too). Also is a picture of the train rails and an island from the bus on our way to Venice. | =0= |

We took a different route along the southern side of the canal and saw some nice churches and squares. | =0= |
