At work Tim needed a digital picture of some of our promotional materials and I always have my camera with me, so I took this picture of him and then emailed the picture to him. The picture and Tim at his computer are shown above. Sadly, the last of the executives from Yesmail.com, Tal, left the company. He was really quite a good manager (technically savvy and good with people), but he owned a home in SF Bay area and was inclined to hire new staff for our group in that area. The old @Once executives preferred to hire new people in Portland area which may have led to Tal's resignation, which was sad as I liked him. However, there then was more hiring here. This is Pechara. She has been a programmer since the 70's and started programming in Thailand. However, she didn't work out. | =0= |

A few weeks later we made offers to two new people. The first was Richard shown above on the left. He first sat where Pechara sat (across from my desk) but when Winston arrived he moved to a new location we added in the middle of our area. You can see my current desk just behind his. Richard is a long time Database programmer and really knows his stuff. He was brought on as a contractor, but converted to an employee after about six weeks. As Anyess was much overworked, a new receptionist, Desirea (shown above) joined us. Here is a picture of Winston. He has mostly worked with Microsoft SQL Server and we mostly work with Oracle, so he was brought on to Enterprise (the new system we are migrating to) where the learning curve was expected. We also brought back Larry (shown below on the left) to help us handle human resource issues. He had done that for @once.com and had been the person who set up my first interviews. He had also been let go after six months of transistion when we were bought out. Desirea (above) had been really great but wasn't happy at yesmail.com and accepted another position. Jane (below) was our temporary replacement. | =0= |
