Meanwhile, in my apartment complex they have been having regular problems trying to repair the hot tub. Finally they decided to take the whole thing out and replace it. That really made a mess, but seems to be about the only way to really fix things. Still they did have their summer pool party toward the as shown above (also a not so good thumbnail and full size). After the party they dug out the hole for a much larger hot tub (needed to be handicap enabled) as you can see below. Autumn Chase Apartments hot tub. =0=

It wasn't until November that they finally finished the hot tub (shown above under construction and here completed), but I imagine it was worth the wait. I see the steam rising from the tub on cold days (it is right outside my window), but am not bold enough to actually use it. Autumn Chase Apartments hot tub. =0=

In early December we had some really strange weather. There were some high winds (reported as 63mph) which I slept through. I woke and walked out to see the crushed car shown above. Yikes! The maintenance people had already cut up the tree so we could get out (excpept for that car, of course). There was another tree on the neighboring Quality Inn's property that had blown onto an Autumn Chase building, but is seems the limbs broke the fall and there wasn't any damage other than ripped up gutters. David and Jay had stayed there back in 2001. My pumpkins did well this year but there was no fruit. The squirrels dug up and ate the seeds I put out and nibbled on most of the little seedlinigs. However, one plant survived and grew well, but they nibbled on the tiny pumpkins (walnut size) from the few flowers that got fertilized. Someone in the complex has been feeding the squirrels peanuts so they are not as skinny, but they have kept up their foraging ways. In mid-December, the complex had their Christmas party shown below. Very nice. Autumn Chase Apartments pumpkins. =0=
