On an afternoon early on when my cousin Mary and I were hanging out, she took me to a couple of hikes that Chris and Amber like. However, her knee is bothering her now, so instead of doing the hikes, we enjoyed the drive and I entered them into my GPS unit. Before I left I really wanted to do the hikes (as they looked very nice). This last hike started out in a park with campgrounds and such. I parked at the entrance and walked the paved loop as there hadn't been much parking at the actual trail head. However, even though it was a gorgeous day, the weekend and well into the tourist season, there were plenty of parking spaces at the trail head, but it was fun to walk the loop, too. | =0= |

It was a very nice walk, but I was doing errands before and after and so only had about an hour to walk. So, I walked until it was time to turn around (walked a little further as I wasn't really on a fixed schedule) and then walked back. Hawaians are quite familiar with the red clay which can be used to dye / stain clothing very easily. There was a way cool view of Honolulu and another mountain ridge, buyt I needed to really zoom it to get what I wanted and then it was bouncing around (as I moved with my heart beat and such) and the colors came out funny (more blue than I remember). Anyway, I thought it was a nice view and enjoyed experimenting. | =0= |

The park itself was at the peak of hill / mountain and the drive up was very nice. As I was driving down I notieced that this road (and residential neighborhood along it) had some really pleasant views of Honolulu and Pearl Harbnor and such. | =0= |

There was even a very nice view of Pearl Harbor. | =0= |
