He pretty regularly took on the task of filling the bins with dishwater for people to wash their dishes (we were asked to bring our own dishes and clean them ourselves) as that was a pretty easy (and important task) that was often left blank. | On Sunday morning after breakfast, Lamala had all the participants group behind Horizon for pictures. Scott and Doctor Duke (above) took the pictures, initially with a camera with a tripod (sitting on the chair) and a timer. The picture below seems to have everyone in them (at least those who were there Sunday morning. Would you believe that I could remember the names of all but four in the picture. Amazing, after my only third retreat. After that, Scott and Doctor Duke took pictures with the numerous cameras that people left with them. That must have been a technology challenge for them, but they managed fine. I took a short video of Doctor Duke at work. Afterward Lamala's family posed for pictures. Below is Tachu (Lamala's wife), Tashi Dolkar (their daughter) and Lama Karma (Tachu's cousin). |

| Above is a picture of Tashi Dolkar, Tachu, and Lama Karma and another of just Tashi Dolkar. Tashi has changed so over the years. You can also see pictures of her in 2001, 2007, and 2009. Here and below are pictures of Vicki and Julianne, her sister. Traditionally Vicki has been the head cook for previous Blue Bunny Retreats but this year she couldn't stay the whole week (her father requires much attention) so she organized things and trained others. They asked me to take this picture as they cheered Scott during the basketball game and in preparation for Scott's trip to India with Lamala where he and Doctor Duke will assist with carrying things. When we arrived there weren't really any Blue Bunnies (often confused with the flowers, Blue Bonnets, but this is the Blue Bunny retreat after all). However, it got pretty warm on a few days and by the end of the week they were blooming. |
