John and I have gotten a new roommate, Nino, to help pay the rent. Nino works at Cardona's, an Italian Market and Deli. Barbara came up to try the Albany Dances of Universal Peace circle and we had dinner at Cardona's. It was very good. Cardona's Italian Market and Deli. =0=

They have a deli counter and nice informal seating where you can eat (above). Here is the register where you pay. The cost is by weight, so you can get smaller dinners which is good for me. There is also a section with Italian groceries, pastas, cheeses and such. On one evening, Nino brought over his daughter (he and his wife are having problems) and I got the picture below of her with Max, the John's Jack Russel terrier. My camera seems to have gotten confused and did not record the picture of Nino and his daughter, so this is a placeholder for it. Nino's daughter. =0=

In May I was able to spend a lot of time helping out picking up Restore donations as Dave, the normal driver had hurt his arm in April (he slipped and a refrigerator had fallen on his arm). He finally went to the doctor who advised that he shouldn't use his arm for another week. So, we went out with two helpers to do the lifting and Dave to drive. Above, here and below are Dave and Steve. One morning our Thursday morning pick up was postponed and so we moved the extra blue foam (from insulating the ceiling) from the back warehouse section to the store section so people could see it and buy it. Instead of just carrying it (which would be a chore) we loaded it on a pallet and pallet jack, but it was too long to ride comfortably. So we needed a person to ride on it to stabilize it (oh the sacrifces we make for efficient operations). It was fun! Here are pictures of Steve (the current normal Thursday volunteer) pulling the pallet jack with Dave riding. I wanted to make a video of the ride through the warehouse, but started too late when I was riding and only got the parking maneuver. Doh! Below is the larger of the display piles we moved.
